The Same As All The Rest

Oh, how I hate to see your reflection,
Buried in my poetic expression.
What gives you the right to suddenly appear,
When you’ve already confirmed my deepest fear?

Your interpretation of honesty is made up of only lies,
What were you afraid of… my tendency to despise?
That would be irrational, that is not a part of me.
At least not a part that you will ever see.

You will remain where you are at,
Mixed emotions and all of that.
After all, it’s for the best…

You’re the same as all the rest.

Her Music

He could hear her. Her fingers swiftly danced from one key to the next, weaving the notes into a melodious blend of bitter and sweet. The music was remarkably melancholy, and he became slightly drowsy. But then, she began to sing. Her voice was like nothing he had ever heard before, even though he had heard it a thousand times… It was heartbreakingly beautiful. He was so overcome with emotion that he felt a compulsive need to greet the musician. His clumsy feet shuffled down the hotels third story hallway, nervously stopping at the threshold of room 276. It was with a dreamy sigh that he opened the door in front of him. No one was in the room, and no one had been in years. He shook his head and retreated out of the room. Pesky ghosts.

Butterflies

My stomach is where they reside,
Waiting patiently in their cage.
They are rarely restless, rarely awoken,
But your presence sends them into a frenzy.
They become uncontrollable,
Diving, darting, twisting, turning,
You have unlocked the cage, and the butterflies surge in all directions.
They force a light blush up to my cheeks,
Flushing them with pink.
Their movements control my reflexes,
Causing my eyes to dart to the floor,
Nervously flitting from your face to my shoes.
The butterflies work their way into my fingers,
Making them fidget relentlessly.
Finally, they journey towards my throat,
Causing me to stutter and giggle against my will.
But one look at you answers all my questions.
Your butterflies are still contained in your cage,
Unaware of my presence,
Waiting for another girl to release them.

The Point Of No Return

Are you happy now?
You left him in devastation, ruin, absolute and utter anguish.
Your sworn loyalty has been broken.
He has been crushed by your deceitful lies,
Misled by your false forgiveness,
And destroyed by your continued unfaithful actions.
Your priorities are in no ones best interest but your own.
The person you used to be is nothing but a fond memory,
But that fondness is replaced with tortured pain when reality hits, and you know shes never coming back.
She’s reached the point of no return…

Sea Of Lies

Your drowning, aren’t you?
In your own sea of lies.
You let the tides get out of control,
And now its all over.
But you don’t care, do you?
You just fight fire with fire,
And the sea just becomes deeper.
But im sinking too,
And i doubt you’ve even noticed.
Or care, for that matter.
In fact, i know you don’t.
And im starting not to care either.
Go ahead, take the life preserver,
I know you will anyway.
I won’t be needing it anymore.

Contained By The Bars

Her tiny hands pressed against the glass,
Yearning for what was behind it.
The black phone was heavy,
But she held on to it for dear life.
His soft voice whispered in her ear:

“I love you”
“i miss you”
“Everything will be okay”
“I’ll be with you and mommy again soon”

She just wanted to hug him,
But prison had kept them apart.
He might be there before her,
But her daddy was contained by the bars.

Do You Believe It?

Do you believe it?
Do you believe the lies?
Do you not see what’s hiding in her eyes?
Her masquerade is up, no one will see through.
But she leaves behind some simple clues.
Those angry red scratches, that empty plate,
Her love for herself has turned to hate.

Do you believe it?
Do you believe her smile?
Do you not see keeping its driving her wild?
Its convincing all right, the way is plastered on.
It returns to her face everyday at dawn.
But everyday when she wakes,
It becomes more and more fake…

I’m Just An Actress

I’m just an actress,
In this little play called happiness.
Say your lines, but do not stutter,
They need to think your all together.
And even when your broken down,
You must never show your frown.
Because if they knew your not okay,
The stage lights would fade away.

Original Outcast

Her emerald eyes are bright, young, eager.
Her opinions are her own, not affected by others.
Shes eccentric, fascinating, mysterious.
Original in every way.
Why is she outcast?
She will not conform to societies twisted conception of perfect.
So she is feared.
She is the unknown, the unexpected, the unpredictable.
But secretly, you wish you could be like her…

The Monster

Sometimes less is more,
And none is even better.
The hollow feeling becomes a familiar friend,
As normal as breathing air.
The stabs of lightening are harder to get used to,
But you learn to weather out the storm.
Its addicting, but so destructive.
You cannot stop… Your already too far in now.
Why would you even want to? Its beneficial… Right?
You lose track of reality,
You cant even remember why you wanted to quit…
Your brainwashed.
You cant tell right from wrong anymore.
You once felt this gave you the ultimate control,
But really your just a slave to the monster.
It always wins, so why even fight anymore?
Deep inside, you never wanted to anyway…
